Yoga in the Forest
Barefoot to happiness
Yoga relaxes and leads to yourself. And what place would be more suitable for it than our forest. A special yoga platform, located in a part especially dedicated to forest wellness, without the noise of everyday life and in the heart of nature. This is where the tourist board of Saalbach Hinterglemm offers forest yoga twice a week.
Thursday morning: meeting point: 09:30 Reiterkogel lower terminus, followed by a one-hour hike to the yoga location, start: 10:30, enrolment at TVB Saalbach Hinterglemm.
Monday afternoon: meeting point: 13:00 Reiterkogel lower terminus, followed by a one-hour hike to the yoga location, start: 14:00, enrolment at TVB Saalbach Hinterglemm.
If you are a practicing yogi you are welcome to use the platform anytime.
This is a Yoga exercise that you can practice on the Yoga platform and that is perfect for forest wellness: The tree. If correctly exercised, the tree strengthens your sense of balance and your physical firmness. Entrench yourself with the right foot on the ground. Shift your weight to the right leg. Now move the left foot from the ground and move the heel to the inside of the right thigh. Next comes the crown. Stretch your arms in the air, hands touching. You are supposed to hold the tree position for 60 seconds. Then relax briefly and try with the other side. Don’t worry, it is normal that one side is easier than the other.
Location: Reiteralm 300 m to the entrance of the forest wellness area
Refreshment: At the Reiteralm you can enjoy wonderful forest smoothies
