summer toboggan run in saalfelden
Austria's longest summer toboggan run
Think tobogganing is only a winter sport? Think again! Saalfelden is home to the longest summer toboggan run in Austria: 1600 metres, 61 corners and 3 jumps. The run descends 345 vertical metres from the start high up on the mountain to the finish down in the valley. Each toboggan has its own handbrake, so riders can choose how fast they want to go. In bad weather, such as rain, the toboggan run is closed. However, the Huggenberg chairlift is open from May until October in all weather.
After whizzing down the mountain at high speed, we recommend a relaxing hike through the nearby meadows full of beautiful alpine flowers. After walking for an hour from the top of the lift you will reach the "Natur & Stein" adventure area near the Gasthof Berlesreitel. At the Berggasthof Huggenberg there is also a playground with a petting zoo.
At the Simon Kiddy Park visitors can hire bicycles and balance bikes to test their skills on the obstacle course.
Location: Saalfelden, approx. 20 minutes by car from the hotel
