Stadtbummel & Gaumenfreuden

Alpine tradition + international flair = Zell am See!

The charming pedestrianised oldtown at the heart of this alpine village on the shores of the Zeller See lake is a popular destination for daytrippers keen to combine shopping with fine food. Visitors will find boutiques and stands selling specialties from the Pinzgau region such as dried bacon, cheeses, liqueurs and honey. Those in search of traditional clothing will find Lederhosen et al. at "trendmaker" in the Bahnhofstraße as well as in a number of other shops.

Sweet treats are on offer at the Konditorei Seegasse. We recommend the poppyseed and raspberry cake as well as the delicious Italian ice cream.

On Friday mornings in summer and autumn there is a large farmers' market (8:00 to 14:00), while in winter there is a Christmas market with mulled wine and stands selling handmade goods.
