hohe tauern national park centre
Krimmler Waterfalls & other natural highlights
The Hohe Tauern National Park Centre is the perfect excursion for rainy days.
Located just a 45-minute drive from Hinterglemm, this state-of-the-art museum in Mittersill gives visitors a fascinating insight into the spectacular Hohe Tauern region with its many mountains and glaciers. All in all there are ten interactive stations that make up the exhibition all about the national park, from the flora and fauna in a mountain stream to the habitat of wild eagles, alpine meadows and precious minerals hidden deep in the rock. Don't miss out on the 360° cinema, the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
Time for lunch? The Weyerhof guesthouse in Bramberg am Wildkogel is just a 15-minute drive from the museum. Dating back 900 years, it offers excellent local cuisine in beautiful surroundings.
A trip to the Hohe Tauern National Park Centre can be combined with a visit to the nearby Krimmler Waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Europe. Feel the power of nature as thousands of tonnes of pure mountain water thunder down into the valley.
Back at the Rosentalerhof you can reflect on an action-packed day with a drink at the bar or a visit to our own in-house spa.
